Sr. Systems Administrator

Description:The System Administrator position is the backbone of performing essential tasks to keep the data center running. Will perform the preventative maintenance activities, perform backups, make necessary changes recommended by the IT Security Manager and perform the installation and configuration of new servers, storage and systems required by new projects.
Duties:• Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
• Introducing and integrating new technologies into existing data center environments.
• Performing routine audits of systems and software.
• Performing backups.
• Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Installing and configuring new hardware and software.
• Performing 2nd and 3rd level support.
• Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the system.
• Troubleshooting any reported problems.
• System performance tuning.
• Ensuring that the network infrastructure is up and running.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; a viable combination of experience and education will be considered.

• Must have five (5) + years’ experience in systems administration or related field.

• Must have excellent human resources skills and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external resources to resolve potential conflicts and maintain a teamwork atmosphere.

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated experience delivering presentations to management at all levels and to external audiences.

• Must have excellent organizational, analytical and decision-making skills and the ability to multitask.

• Knowledge and experience in Systems Engineering Methodology for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) projects is a plus.

o Active Directory and Group Policy administration and troubleshooting experience

o Cisco UCS and HP Server experience a plus
o Netapp storage system experience a plus
o Microsoft SCCM administration experience a plus
